Buck Creek Trail & More: Monte Carlo Range

Friday March 27 - Sunday March 29
My plan is to drive down Friday evening after 6:00 PM ( I get off work at 5:00 PM).  Drive and sleep in the car Friday night.  I have some usual locations where I crash for the night.  Saturday, finish the drive if necessary.  Maybe grab a bite to eat at some random place, then find the trailhead.
All of my hikes are planned in the CalTopo App!  It is awesome if you do not have it, you are missing out.  The map can be found at https://caltopo.com/m/D4AA31B. All of this summer’s Koski PWC hikes will be on this link.  The hike is down in the Columbia River George Gorge of White Salmon.  The day hike is the purple line, and the day two route is the pink line.
Overall distance is: 22 miles
  • Day one’s estimated elevation gain is 4,300 ft; there is a loss on this day, too.
  • Day two has 1,700 feet of gain.
I imagine this trip to be an exercise hike with scenery and lots of trees.  I have been on part of the day two path, but the up part of day one looks to be what can be described as “UP”.  I believe the trails are also open to mountain bikes and motorcycles.  I want to do this hike because I have not hiked the Monte Carlo Range.
Contact me if you desire to hike something random!  Oh – If winter actually arrives, some of the upper part could have winter snows in March.  I will watch the weather, and if it snows at the last minute, another selection will be made in the area.  If you like to go light and get exercise, contact me!
