Sea Kayaking Foulweather Bluff, north of Port Gamble (Saturday, 12-10-2011) --- One way paddle from Point-No-Point to Port Gamble (12.6 miles, Class I)

It was cloudy all day but the sea was calm. As its name indicated the "Foulweather Bluff" area could be rough since it's exposed to the wider Pudget Sound and due to its major shipping lane to Seattle. On our paddle day, it was calm, Class I. There were some wind blowing as we turned around the Foulweather Bluff and paddling toward the Port Gamble, but it was not really bad. The trip was sponsored by Les Moore. Tom Henning, Bob McBright, Keith Ovregaad, and I participated. Keith joined this trip after looking at the PWC activities on the PWC website.

We launched our boats around 1110. We paddled around the Fowlweather Bluff and took a lunch break at a conservation area. Then, we continously paddled to Port Gamble (our destination) arriving there at 1540. Car shuttle took about 45 minutes.

Sightseeing included various types of houses along the shore and many different types of birds (Sea birds, Blue Herons, Bold Eagles, etc).
