This is your invitation to join us for our third trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota. In 2007 and again in 2008 we visited the Black Hills in mid September. We rode bikes on the George S. Mickelson Trail from Deadwood South Dakota south to the trails end at Edgemont (a bike ride of 109 miles). Because of a knee replacement we cancelled the 2009 Black Hills Trip and went to Idaho instead. Last year in Idaho we rode the Trail of the Coeur d’Alene’s which is 72 miles in length. This paved trail offers great views, wildlife, and is located in a beautiful area.

The Black Hills and northern Idaho are great areas to visit in September with an abundance of sunshine and warm temperatures. There are many hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and of course the bike trails. Anybody can ride these trials, we will ride 15 to 25 miles each day. This will leave plenty of time to relax, and enjoy the parks/hiking trails within a short drive of our cabins. Tentative dates: Black Hills Sept. 11-15, Horse Range Sept. 16-18, Idaho Sept. 19-21, Home Sept 22.

Both bike trails offer gentle grades and the scenery along these trails is outstanding. We will be renting cabins again this year and expect the cost to run about $50/day (food & Lodging). In 2008 we rented a cabin that could accommodate twelve people, this year we want to size the cabins to the real group size. We will need payment by August 15th for anyone that wants to attend! Join us for all or any part of this trip!

We are going to visit the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range as we drive from the Black Hills back to Idaho. It is only a short drive south of the Freeway and as the attached pictures shows a very special place. The horse range is located in a remote area that requires a high clearance vehicle to visit. We plan on camping in this area for a couple of days before completing the drive to Idaho.

The following pictures best describe this trip! Please Contact Tony Abruzzo (360-871-5754) or Bob Brown (360-569-2878) if you have questions or want to sign up for the trip.

The Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range is located 35 miles east of Bridger Montana (Bridger is 30 miles south of I-90). The last time I visited the horse range was in early September 2001. We spent 1/2 a day and counted over 100 horses. The Scenery is outstanding and this remote area requires a high clearance vehicle to access.

The George S. Mickelson Bike Trail Starts at Deadwood South Dakota and runs 109 miles south through the Black Hills ending at Edgemont South Dakota. Check out www.MickelsonTrail.com for bike trail information. The Trail of the Coeur d’Alene’s is a paved trail that runs 72 miles in northern Idaho. Both trails offer gentle grades that anyone can ride!
