Come learn about SCUBA Diving in California’s beautiful Channel Islands. See video of Sea Lions, kelp forests, Horn Sharks, and more. The Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary comprises the water around five of the eight islands off the coast of Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. It is an area well-known among divers for its kelp forests, underwater pinnacles, and crevice-filled boulder fields that are home to numerous species of fish, marine mammals, and invertebrates.
Kelly Thomsen has been diving for more than 10 years, and has explored the waters all over Washington and Oregon. He joins an annual 5-day trip to the Channel Islands in March, and in this presentation he will present videos, pictures, and stories of his trips in 2018 and 2019.
