5 of us climbed Green Mountain to the Vista and then bushwhacked down to School Rock. We found some gear on the rock that someone had left. We talked about anchors, and I set up a few good and bad examples, but due to rain we didn't climb. It was raining when we left the cars so we knew we wouldn't be able to do much in the way of rappelling, belaying and climbing. I promised a repeat performance in better weather.
If you haven't noticed, there is a new link on the website called Field Guide. This Field Guide is a wiki style guide where anyone with a little internet knowledge can contribute. Currently the guide is focused on area trails including the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas. Hopefully in the future and with community involvement, we can include a flora and fauna section of the wiki. Today I added a mobile skin for i-phone / android / blackberry users. I have only tested it on an android phone so if anyone out there besides me ever uses it and notices any issues, please let me know. The skin should automagically recognize when a smartphone accesses the forum. To switch back to the regular default skin, click the desktop button at the top of the page. There is now a members only tab on the website navigation bar. The content in this section includes, meeting minutes, tech videos, future and past guest speakers and forum tutorial videos. I hope to add more content as it becomes available. To be able to see the tab you will need two things. 1. You need to be registered on the site and logged in. 2.
